Do you have the travel bug? Would you consider yourself a people person? Well, look no further! Our Tourism and Hospitality - Level 2 course is designed to provide a strong understanding of the travel and tourism sector, giving you the knowledge, skills and experience to pursue a career within one of the many diverse branches of the tourism industry.
This qualification will see you develop a range of essential abilities, including teamwork, leadership, problem-solving and decision-making, to prepare you for a jet-setting, people-centric future. Theoretical and practical work will be combined to give you a clear understanding of how this busy and lucrative industry operates, assisting you in finding that perfect job you've always dreamed about.
Entry requirements
- 4 GCSEs in grades 3/D or above, including English and maths.

Upon successful completion of this course, you'll receive a Level 2 Diploma in Travel and Tourism.

This course will be delivered over three or four days at Kidderminster College and will require an additional day of self-study.
You'll also utilise our on-site state-of-the-art flight cabin simulator.
Classes generally run between 9am-4:15pm but may vary.
Alongside this course, there will also be several day trips to industry-relevant locations to support your learning.

Work experience opportunities
Throughout this course, you'll have opportunities to go on educational trips related to the tourism and hospitality industry. Previous trips have included Alton Towers, Shrewsbury Prion, FlyMe and the Aviation Academy. You'll also have guest speakers come onto campus to talk about their industry, with previous guest speakers coming from Jet2, TUI and Albert Schloss.
English and maths
If you're aged 16-18 and haven't achieved a GCSE grade 4/C in English and maths, you'll need to take English and maths classes alongside your programme of study.
English will be included through learning new terminology and being able to communicate with a range of people.
Maths will be included by learning how to serve customers when they are paying for products.

The realistic KC Air cabin mock-up provides our learners with a hands-on and unique learning experience, preparing them for the dynamic travel and tourism industry.

My BA in International Tourism Business Management degree enabled me to gain invaluable skills and industry knowledge, which I enjoy sharing with my teaching. Daily tasks:
- Arranges for payment of bills, keeps accounts and ensures adherence to licensing and other statutory regulations.
- Approves and arranges shipboard entertainment and shore trips and liaises with ship.
- Ensures physical comfort of residents or passengers and makes special arrangements for children, the elderly and the infirm if required.
