Level up your trade skills with our Level 2 course in Property Maintenance! This course has been designed to allow you to continue developing the knowledge and practical skills you gained on our Level 1 qualification.
Dive deeper into construction trades including brickwork, painting, decorating, plastering, plumbing and carpentry, and hone your craft with advanced techniques throughout various practical applications and scenarios.
After completing this intensive course, you will be able to progress onto a Level 2 or Level 3 specialisation in your chosen construction area.
Entry requirements:
- GCSE at grade 3 or above in English and Maths
- A Level 1 qualification in Property Maintenance or equivalent

Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a Level 2 Diploma in Multi Skills/Maintenance Operations (Construction).

- This study programme will be taught over 12 hours over three days.
- Practical work will be carried out at our purpose-built Construction and Automotive Centre and theoretical and background tutorials will take place on our Main Campus.

Work experience opportunities:
During the year we will have guest speakers coming in to talk about the industry and can go on-site to see first-hand customer service when dealing with customers of the trade.
English and Maths:
English will be embedded throughout the course so you can have a better understanding of the terminology used within the construction industry.
Maths will be embedded throughout the course, for example to aid you to calculate how many drops to a roll of wallpaper are required so you can calculate how many rolls of wallpaper are needed to complete a customer’s request.
Where can I progress?
Upon successful completion of this course, you can go onto a Level 3 apprenticeship.

Green Technology Centre ManagerAs a dedicated Site Manager, I oversee the centre's daily operations and support learners in their journey toward achieving their qualifications. My responsibilities include managing four departments: Motor Vehicle, Vehicle Respraying, Bricklaying, and Property Maintenance Operations, offering qualifications ranging from Level 1 to Level 3, as well as apprenticeship programs in these areas. With a background as a fully qualified motor mechanic and vehicle respraying tutor for eight years, I bring hands-on expertise to my role in management.

What can I do with a qualification in Property Maintenance?
Daily tasks:
- Visits and advises clients on the use and servicing of electrical and electronic systems and equipment.
- Diagnoses and detects faults and implements procedures to maintain efficient operation of systems and equipment.
- Plans installation methods, checks completed installation for safety and controls or undertakes the initial running of the new electrical or electronic equipment or system.
- Sets up equipment, undertakes tests, takes readings, performs calculations and records and interprets data.
- Plans and prepares work and test schedules based on specifications and drawings.

Daily tasks:
- Levels, aligns and embeds stone in mortar and faces brick, concrete or steel frame with stone to make and repair structures.
- Uses hand and power tools to shape, trim, carve, cut letters in and polish stone.
- Spreads mortar on foundations and bricks, and places, levels and aligns bricks in mortar bed.
- Marks and cuts stone using hammers, mallet and hand or pneumatic chisels.
- Examines drawings, photographs and specifications to determine job requirements.
