Want a career in the Performing Arts? Then this qualification is for you! The course specialises in Acting, Musical Theatre and Theatre Production.

Acting - Learn how to act for the camera and for theatre! Develop voice skills and even learn how to prepare for auditions. You will be taught by industry professionals to gain a strong technical grounding in acting and performance. You will take part in productions such as Caryl Churchill's 'A Mouthful of Birds', Alice Sebold's 'The Lovely Bones', Jim Cartwright's 'ROAD' and a stage adaptation of John Hughes' 80's cult classic 'The Breakfast Club'.

Musical Theatre - Develop your skills in singing and dancing. Step out on stage in a number of productions and showcases throughout the course. Large-scale productions by Ignite Musical Theatre students have included Cabaret, Crazy for You, Les Misérables, Anything Goes, Little Shop of Horrors, and more!

Technical Theatre - Work with industry experts and develop skills in lighting and sound operation, set design and construction, stage management, and so much more. Put these skills into practice during Dance, Musical Theatre, Acting and Music performances. This course provides you with on-the-job training and theoretical approaches to strengthen your knowledge and skills.

What can I do with a qualification in Performing Arts?

Daily tasks:

  • Plays pre-recorded music at nightclubs, discotheques, and private functions.
  • Conducts interviews and prepares reports for news broadcasts, current affairs programmes and documentaries.
  • Introduces and presents radio and television programmes, reads news bulletins and makes announcements.
  • Trains animals to perform entertaining routines and may perform with them.
  • Performs singing, comedy, acrobatic, illusion and conjuring routines.
  • Assumes character created by a playwright or author and communicates this to an audience.
  • Studies script, play or book and prepares and rehearses interpretation.
