Studying this Level 3 Electrical Installation course will enable you to develop a deeper understanding of the electrical industry's theoretical aspects and practical skills, aiming to enhance your knowledge of inspection, testing and design.
You will study further electrical principles, environmental awareness, installation, testing and fault diagnosis, expanding your understanding of domestic, commercial, and light industrial installation.
At the end of this course, you will have specialised knowledge and a specific skill set that will set you up for a successful career as an electrician. You'll be able to solve complex issues with critical thinking and expertise that you have learned at college.
Entry requirements:
- GCSE at grade 3 or above in English and Maths
- A Level 2 qualification in Electrical Installation or equivalent

You will be expected to undertake a set number of hours of work experience.
English and Maths:
You will develop English skills within this course such as learning how to communicate with customers effectively.
You will develop maths skills which are required when measuring and installing electrical wires.

Upon successful completion of this course, you can go into employment in various job roles including becoming an Electrician, Electrical Engineer, Electrical Tester, Highways System Electrician, Design Engineer, and a Project Manager.

My responsibilities include managing four departments: Motor Vehicle, Vehicle Respraying, Bricklaying, and Property Maintenance Operations, offering qualifications ranging from Level 1 to Level 3, as well as apprenticeship programs in these areas. With a background as a fully qualified motor mechanic and vehicle respraying tutor for eight years, I bring hands-on expertise to my role in management.

What can I do with a qualification in Electrical Installation?
Daily tasks:
- Visits and advises clients on the use and servicing of electrical and electronic systems and equipment.
- Diagnoses and detects faults and implements procedures to maintain efficient operation of systems and equipment.
- Plans installation methods, checks completed installation for safety and controls or undertakes the initial running of the new electrical or electronic equipment or system.
- Sets up equipment, undertakes tests, takes readings, performs calculations and records and interprets data.
- Plans and prepares work and test schedules based on specifications and drawings.
